How to Make Pete's Paleo Bacon

Finally...the video you've all been waiting for! Today we're going to share with you how to cook our delicious (and what many customers have referred to as "life changing") Pete's Paleo Bacon. (If you don't have the bacon yet, stop what you're doing immediately and order it here!)


(Don't have time to watch the video right now? Check out the highlights below!) When you open up the package,you'll see a couple smallpieces of bacon and a large chunk of bacon.

In the video above and in this blog post, Chef Pete explains step-by-step how to cook each of these sections of bacon to perfection.

How to Make the Smaller Piece of Paleo Bacon

The smaller pieces are great for adding to...

  • Egg scrambles
  • Toasted pecans and Brussels sprouts
  • Kale
  • Collard Greens
  • Beets
  • Kohlrabi
  • Pretty much anything you want!


  1. Slice the bacon: Find flat surface, slice bacon in half, and slice into matchsticks (or "lardons" as the French call it)
  2. Get a sauté pan (we used an aluminum sauté pan). Put the bacon onto the cold pan. No need to add any fat to the pan since there is plenty in the bacon that's going to come out.
  3. Place the pan on the stove at medium-low heat.

Bonus Recipe:

While bacon is cooking, chop some broccoli and onions and add to the pan once some fat has rendered out of the bacon. Add a pinch of salt and let it cook some more. Have it for lunch or enjoy later as a dinner side.  

How to Make the Big Chunk of Paleo Bacon


The beauty of our bacon is that it comes in a slab so you can slice it as thin or as thick as you want (we like to slice it a little less than 1/4 inch thick per piece). To get super thin slices, freeze for about 20 minutes before slicing so it doesn't fall apart or melt in your hands.


  1. Get a cast iron pan. Put the bacon onto the cold pan. No need to add any fat to the pan since there is plenty in the bacon.
  2. Place pan on the stove and turn on to medium-high heat
  3. Let it cook until it starts to get brown and crispy (about 6-8 minutes*). Then flip over and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes.
  4. Once it's cooked all the way through, transfer bacon onto a plate lined with a paper towel to soak up the fat.
  5. Eat. Enjoy. Maybe even cry a little. (You're welcome)
*Note: If you're cooking the bacon in two batches, note that the cooking time on the second batch will be shorter since the pan is already hot.
